Carlos Tovar, known as "BB," was born January 5, 1962. He passed away suddenly Sunday morning, April 10, 2005, to join his father who preceded him in life, Antonio M. Tovar, all the Angels, and our good Lord Jesus Christ. Born in Santa Barbara, CA, Carlos attended local schools in the area.

Carlos had a passion for sports and enjoyed playing basketball and football with family and friends as well as scholastic team sports. He was last employed by Browning Ferris Industries before suffering a disabling bicycle injury, which left him bound to a wheelchair until Carlos's heavenly departure.

Carlos is survived by his mother, Maria De La Luz Tovar; his siblings, Tony, Alex, Mary, Javier and Willy. He leaves behind his only daughter, Shantea and three granddaughters, Marissa, Arianna and Kaylie. Angelica Rodriguez was his caregiver for many years. With Carlos's mother, together they cared for him at home; the Tovar Family truly appreciates her devotion to his care.

BB, your entire family and friends will always miss you and remember you in our hearts and prayers. Your family especially rejoices that you are now with Dad; say "Hello" and tell him that we love and miss him. We are also joyful that you are now at the side of our Lord, your spirit forever in His Love.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 13, 2005, 10-5:00 p.m. at McDermott Crockett Mortuary. Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Holy Cross Church. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, 11:15 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, followed by interment at Santa Barbara Cemetery.
